Quite unbelievable but Google has shared its love for search with sharing. This change has come on as the search engine wants to ensure everything to make Google+ a grand success. Are you still in doubt? Have a look below at the screenshot of the search page of Google.
It is undoubtedly true that Google has more to offer than just search. Share what you wish to. Search and social are now same.
Share and Search Meet Each Other
Search box seems to dominate the page but share box is also noticeable. It is there in the page’s top right corner. Once you click this share button, one more box opens up. And, with it you may share content on Google+.
More than Just Search in Home Page
You could not do any other thing than search on Google’s home page. Yes, there were navigation links taking you to other services by Google but these links too diverted you from home page for any work.
Even the iGoogle personalized home page’s widget didn’t mess with original search page visible to users. Many products like own Chrome browser, Android Phone were promoted on the Google’s home page. Although promotion was done yet users were taken to other page rather than hovering on the home page.
Like and Use: Is this going to be the User’s Reaction
Without even a slightest tinge of doubt, this is major change. Google declared this in the month starting. People could make out the reality of it being a significant change until it actually appeared on the Google’s home page. This is just like in Facebook, where you don’t have to go anywhere to post update. Whether the users will like and use this ‘share’ button, time will tell.
Share Past the Home Page
Not just home page but this share button is available on search result pages too. And, it might cover up the ads, Google displays.
Wherever you go the search box will follow you- Gmail, Google News and Google Maps etc. you will not be able to share a link on location, when on Google Maps and have to use different share option. If you wish to share a page you are viewing from Google News, URL needs to be copy pasted. Wish to share search results? Copy paste.
Are you unable to view the search box? Be patient as the change is being implemented gradually.
